England are through to the Netball World Cup semi-finals after a convincing 62-46 win over South Africa. The win ensures Tracey Neville's team will finish runners-up in Pool F and are set to play four-time winners New Zealand on Saturday.
Keeping the same line-up that secured a vital 78-33 win over Wales yesterday, England grew into the game after a slow start. South Africa, who lost heavily to hosts Australia on Wednesday, took a four point lead early on. But England started to take control of the game and scored six goals in a row to open up a healthy lead.
In the second quarter, England extended their lead against the worlds sixth ranked side, with Goal Shooter Jo Harten scoring 35 goals in the match. South Africa rallied again, with the combination of Lenize Potgieter and Maryka Holtzhausen proving successful as they recorded a quarter visitory. But England managed to see out the win and now face a quick turnaround before the semi-final tomorrow.
