Dame Sarah Storey has become world champion for the twenty-first time as she took gold at the Para-Cycling World Championships today. The 37-year-old, who is Great Britain's most decorated female Paralympian, won with a dominating performance in Nottwil, Switzerland.
Storey completed the course more than two minutes faster than her nearest competitor, polish rider Anna Harkowska, and later went on to say that it was "a massive relief to win". The Briton has the opportunity to win another rainbow jersey in the road race on Saturday. But is also looking for more Paralympic medals at the Rio next year, saying “The year before Rio, to be putting time into your competitors is always good. That obviously shows that the training and preparation has gone well."
